Head's Speed Pro line has been one of the most popular racket series in professional padel for three years running. The 2026 edition promises incremental improvements rather than a revolution — but when a racket is already this good, incremental might be enough.

Specs

Weight: 365g (±5g). Shape: teardrop/hybrid. Balance: medium-high. Core: Power Foam. Face: carbon fibre with Graphene 360+ integration. The specs are nearly identical to the 2025 model, with the main change being a slightly thicker core and updated Auxetic technology in the frame.

On Court

The Speed Pro feels fast. That's the simplest way to describe it. The sweet spot is generous for a teardrop shape, and the power delivery is remarkably clean — you get out what you put in, without the racket adding unpredictable energy.

Defensive play is where this racket surprised us most. Despite its power-oriented shape, the control on slow balls and wall returns was excellent. The medium-high balance means overhead shots (bandejas, viboras) have natural authority without feeling head-heavy on quick volleys.

Who It's For

Intermediate to advanced players who want a versatile racket that doesn't force them into a specific play style. If you're a beginner, the round-shaped Speed Motion is a better entry point. If you're an aggressive power player who wants maximum top-end, look at the diamond-shaped Speed Elite.

Price & Availability

RRP is NZ$350 (approximately). Available from most online padel retailers including PadelUSA, Padel Nuestro, and Tennis Warehouse Australia. Some NZ clubs stock Head rackets — check with your local venue.

Verdict

The Head Speed Pro 2026 doesn't reinvent the wheel, and it doesn't need to. It's a refined version of an already excellent racket, with slightly improved feel and the same reliable performance. If you loved the 2025 model, the upgrade is marginal. If you're buying your first serious racket, this is one of the safest choices at the price point.
